

Jim
Berenholtz is a composer of music for theatre, dance, film and
the concert stage. He graduated Amherst College in 1979 with a degree
in composition and ethnomusicology, and has devoted his musical
life to the cross-cultural fusion of Western and non-Western musical
instruments and styles. He is a member of the American Composers
Alliance, the composer of the Native American opera "Buffalo
Nation", and cofounder of the musical duo Xochimoki, a leading
force throughout the 80's and 90's in the revival of the ancient
music of the Aztec, Maya and other pre-Columbian civilizations.
He is a veteran performer with the Los Angeles Music Center On Tour,
and has given concerts at peace conferences and sacred sites throughout
the world, including at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. Jim has produced
eight recordings on cassette, both solo and collaborative. "The
Psalms of RA" is his first CD project. He has also created
